Ciaran Thrush grew up in Hawke’s Bay and gained his medical degree from the University of Auckland. After completing general orthopaedic training in New Zealand, he undertook two fellowships in Melbourne, Australia; one at The Alfred Hospital working in the areas of trauma surgery, pelvis and acetabular fracture surgery and hip replacement, and another specialising in sports knee and knee replacement surgery. He has also completed a paediatric orthopaedic fellowship at Starship Children’s Hospital.
Ciaran enjoys incorporating new techniques into his practice to benefit his patients, including the use of robotic surgery in hip and knee replacement.
Ciaran currently consults and operates at Royston Hospital and Royston Day Surgery Unit.
